Up for consideration is this 1934 Harley Davidson VLD 74″ 1200cc Flathead Motorcycle.
I will try and be transparent and let you know as much as i do about this motorcycle, please read all the conditions below. The Story / History: I acquired this motorcycle about 1.5 years ago from an estate located in Las Vegas, the prior owner was a dealer in the area and this was one of his prized possessions. When i found it the family told me it had been sitting since about 1970 in the family garage, there dad had taken it on trade and started working on it in the shop, it was moved to the house sometime in the early 70’s. When i bought this my intention was to take it apart and use all the parts for some of my other VL’s and then sell off the rest of the parts. After starting at it for more than a year i just did not have the heart to take it apart, it just has to much character and it was telling me to make it be alive again. So that’s what i did, i spent a few weeks day and night preparing this machine to burn oil and gas once again!! I am only offering for sale because i have several other old VL and don’t want to see this just get pushed to the back and get ignored. Over the course of a few weeks i completely dismantled and cleaned and lubricated every nut and bolt of this machine. I will explain under the following segments. If you have questions please contact me, i will take the time to chat and answer all questions so that you are comfortable knowing exactly what you are getting. MILEAGE: Currently about 100 miles since it was brought back to lifeSHEET METAL and PAINT: Sheet metal is original Harley Davidson VL. The rear fender is 34-36 and the front fender is 1931-33. I cleaned and Derusted the Gas and Oil Tanks, The Right side Gas tank has a very small seep that needs to be repaired on a solder joint, Petcocks have been rebuilt CHROME and FINISHES: No Chrome on this bike and the other plated materials have been removed cleaned lubricated and re installedMECHANICAL: The engine seems to have a fresh rebuild, i removed the heads and it appeared that the engine had been just freshly rebuilt before it was put away in storage, it looked to have never been fired. Reinstalled the heads, new spark plugs, Rebuilt the Oil Pump, Installed a working generator, re lubed and put in fresh fluids. Installed new Intake Gaskets and sealed, Fresh Fluids in Transmission, cleaned clutch plates, installed new chains, rebuilt timer, new points, New Ignition and throttle cables were installed, This motorcycle starts very easy with 2 prime kicks, 1 Choke Click and will 99% of the time start on the first ignition kick.ELECTRICAL: all new electrical cable was run and a new battery installed, the bike still needs to be wired correctly and the generator and lights hooked up, Has a Cycle ray HeadlightWHEELS & TIRES: Wheels and tires have been completely re worked, I installed sealed bearings on both the front and rear wheels, and put in new bearings and grease and cleaned and services the brakes on both the front and rear. the Wheels are original Harley Davidson Kelsy Hayes 18″Front tire is a new Shinko 270 4.50 X 18.Rear tire is a new Shinko 270 4.50 X 18TITLE: Is a clear AZ title in my name Engine # 34VLD7879Frame # N/A
