This bike was invited to The 2024 Handbuilt Motorcycle Show and built around a 1970 Honda CB450 K3 and inspired both by a cafe racer and street bike style combo that still preserves the OEM decals and air boxes. Fresh engine rebuild w/ 3mi.
The original engine had 11,374 miles on it and the decision was made to do a full rebuild (pistons, rings, stainless steel valves, seals, cam chain and rollers, clutch and springs) to freshen it up and replace the 50 year old seals and internals prone to failure.
New rims, spokes, swing arm bushing upgraded, gas shocks, new front caliper and brakes, and custom rear sets from Slipstream Cycles. The forks were rebuilt and the neck upgraded to roller style bearings.
The ignition was changed over to electronic (Shockwave) with new coils and updated reg/rec. Motogadget Chronoclassic gauges, both a tach and a Speedo to preserve to original dual gauge look.
Clip on bars with Motogadget mini switches, mo. Unit blue. motogadget mirrors. New tires.
