A true TIME MACHINE opportunity. This is very unusual. Listed here, for the first time anywhere, is a true NEW OLD STOCK 1997 Harley-Davidson FLSTS Heritage Springer Softail. A true TIME MACHINE opportunity. This is very unusual. Listed here, for the first time anywhere, is a true NEW OLD STOCK 1997 Harley-Davidson FLSTS Heritage Springer Softail. This motorcycle was purchased brand new in 1997 — right off the showroom floor — and was NEVER RIDDEN, which makes this a one-of-a-kind Harley you’re not likely to ever see again. This is a TIME-CAPSULE Harley-Davidson if there ever was one! My name is Lisa. Before I continue this description, please forgive me — I know nothing about Harleys or motorcycles at all. But I will tell you all I know about this particular bike… This motorcycle has never been ridden since the day it left the Harley-Davidson factory — not one mile. Heck, it hasn’t even been ridden one INCH. And it’s been kept indoors in a nice air-conditioned house since the day it was purchased & delivered to our home in 1997. You’re probably wondering, “How did this happen?” Here’s the story… In 1997 my husband walked into the Harley-Davidson dealership in Glendale, California (it’s still there @ 3717 San Fernando Rd, Glendale, CA 91204). He went into the store only to buy a leather jacket for a friend who rode Harleys. While my husband was in the shop, looking at jackets, he noticed this gorgeous white & red 1997 Heritage Springer on the showroom floor. He assumed it was a vintage bike that had been meticulously restored. The salesman chuckled and said, “No sir, this is a brand new ’97 model.” Well, my husband (who had never ridden a motorcycle) thought this Harley looked AMAZING, so he bought it AS A PIECE OF ART. He had Glendale Harley deliver the motorcycle to our house and park it IN OUR DEN. Yes, our den — in a corner with lights shining down on it. It looked fantastic. Gorgeous. And that’s where it sat, in our den, for 25+ years. During that quarter century, my husband had a Harley professional come to our house a few times to check the bike. Maybe some fluids were removed or something? I can’t remember. A few times I think (over the past 25 years), they rolled the bike out of our den onto our deck, then started it up to check the engine. It always started up easily and ran beautifully. Still does. We most recently started it up just prior to taking the attached photographs. This Harley is rock stock. “New old stock,” as they say. It still runs and sounds like it did the day Glendale Harley dropped it off at our house, back in 1997. As for the VALUE of this motorcycle… I have no clue. But in terms of RARITY, I have to assume this is the only 1997 Harley-Davidson Heritage Springer in existence that’s NEVER BEEN RIDDEN. I doubt there’s another one like it in the world. By the way, when my husband bought this Harley, he asked the guy at the shop in Glendale, “Why does the odometer show 3 miles?” The salesman explained to him that Harleys are tested at the factory before they’re delivered to the dealerships (that’s what the salesman said in 1997) — thus explaining the 3 miles the odometer shows. As you can see in the photos, we kept all the accessories which are included in this sale. Everything you see pictured. I’ve posted many photos here. We did our best to take pictures of the bike from every angle. Lots of closeups. Again: This Harley is ROCK STOCK. Absolutely no modifications have been made. It’s exactly as it was the day the dealership dropped it off at our home in 1997.
The bike is here in the LA San Fernando Valley (not far from Woodland Hills). I have a nice friend named Tim who’s very knowledgeable about motorcycles. He has kindly agreed to show it to you, if you’d like to come see this Harley-Davidson in person. Tim can start up the bike for you so you can hear the engine. But, of course, no test drives since this motorcycle has NEVER BEFORE been ridden. Enjoy the photos — they tell the rest of the story. Feel free to message me any questions. I’ll talk with Tim, then do my best to answer.
*** Also, if you’d like to come see this Harley Davidson in person, please message me and we’ll set up an appointment for you asap. ***
Finally, I’d like to mention that I’ve been here on for almost 30 years and I have 100% perfect feedback. You can bid with confidence. Take care and good luck!!! –Lisa
